Last night was August's Women in Tech & Entrepreneurship educational gathering. This event was in partnership with Central Florida Tech Grove & Women in Defense. A panel on Women Shaping the Future of Defense, moderated by WTE Founder, Raechel Canipe. With our esteemed panelists Carol Ann Logue, Dolly Oberoi, Ana Irving, and WID President Sondra Chambers.

The event drew in over 100 participants and was also broadcast live virtually. It was truly uplifting and informative. I walked away with several great takeaways from our panelists on how to break down barriers:

            1. Be unafraid
            2. Make your presence known
            3. A barrier is just an illusion
            4. Networking is the key to success
            5. The Defense industry has tons of opportunities for individuals with all skill sets and passions
            6. Organizations, like Women in Defense and Tech Grove, want to see you succeed and will help you!
This event was a testament to the Orlando Tech Community and how we all come together to support one another for the the greater good. Seeing Women in Tech & Entrepreneurship grow and already reach individuals, who are willing to drive several hours to make an event in person let's me know what we are doing is meaningful and keeps me motivated to see this community thrive!!
