6 Local Places to Put on Your Orlando Fashion Radar
If you’re looking to find something unique, stylish and/or tied to supporting local, we have 6 local places here in Orlando that are tied to our local fashion scene. Whether you're looking for something casual, a dress for an upcoming event, something a little more romantic or the kind of gown you only get to pull out for a really good reason, these six local shops offer different takes on style.
Recently, I had the chance to see looks from Adjectives, Forema, Downtown Divas, Hemline Winter Park, The House on Lang and Sim Allure together at Fashion & Hope. Each of them caught my attention on how different they were from one another.
So if you're looking to shop a little closer to home, here are some places worth knowing about.
Adjectives
If you're drawn to something more romantic, I'd start with Adjectives.
The looks I saw included lace, softer silhouettes and feminine details, and several were among my favorites. I could see wearing them to a birthday celebration, brunch or bridal shower, but I also liked the idea of taking just one of those more romantic pieces and working it into what I already own.
A little lace with denim might be enough.

Forema
Looking for something more casual? Check out Forema.
This was probably closest to what I want out of my everyday clothes right now. I want to be comfortable, but I still want to look like I thought about what I put on.
The pieces I saw from Forema had that quality. They felt easy without being boring, and I could see them working through more than one part of my day.

Downtown Divas
If I needed a cocktail dress, Downtown Divas would be on my list.
The dresses were what stood out to me most. They were feminine and dressed up without feeling like too much, which makes them easy to imagine for dinners, parties and other occasions when the regular closet suddenly isn't cutting it.
This is the kind of place I'd want to remember before I actually need the dress.

Hemline Winter Park
Hemline Winter Park gave me more options.
There were shimmering cocktail dresses, but also separates and pieces that didn't need a special occasion. I tend to look for clothes I can wear more than one way, so those were the pieces that interested me.
I want to be able to look at something and immediately start thinking about what I already own that could go with it.

The House on Lang
The House on Lang is where I'd go when I want something that feels a little less expected.
The looks I saw leaned bohemian, with more texture, movement and layering. It's not necessarily how I dress every day, which is probably part of why I noticed it.
Sometimes I don't need another version of something I already own. I want one piece that makes me try something different.

Sim Allure
And sometimes you just need the gown.
Sim Allure was the full glamour end of what I saw, with dramatic silhouettes and evening looks made for formal occasions.
With the number of galas, benefits and formal events happening around Central Florida, it's good to know there is somewhere locally to look when the invitation calls for more than a cocktail dress.

Shop Around Orlando
These six places are worth your visit and they give you different options on style depending on what you’re looking for. They also help give you an opportunity to connect with the local fashion leaning community who care about what’s happening in the scene locally.
You might walk into Forema looking for something you'll wear all the time, The House on Lang because you want something different, Downtown Divas because you need a dress next weekend or Sim Allure because this particular night calls for a gown.
