Fraser Bowie Inspires Orlando to be Bold, Loud and Creative

It’s hard to miss Fraser Bowie when you’re involved in Orlando’s rich immersive tech scene. (He’s the guy wearing a kilt) We see him around our local tech events but it wasn’t until he stopped by our office space that we formally had a chance to talk.

When Fraser began to understand the possibility of augmenting our surroundings with digital content, he realized it could enhance the human experience.

As Chief Product Officer at NuEyes Technologies Inc., he is leading the way with immersive technology while giving Orlando a voice. When he first started working in AR/VR he realized people outside of Orlando were unaware of the region’s talent and expertise in Immersive Tech and Simulation. His hope is to inspire the community to be bold, loud and creative so the world will take notice.

As far as wearing a kilt? Here's what he had to say:

“As I left corporate work and started consulting, I noticed at conferences and events that everyone looked the same [dress shirt and slacks] so why not stand out? As a proud Scot I decided to break out the kilt and show off my Scottish pride. Not only does it make me stand out, it also makes me more approachable. In the end it’s not about me but about how I can help you. If the kilt gets you over to start a conversation, then I can listen to what you have to say or need and I can see how I can help. It also doesn't hurt that I can tell you how much Scotland means to me.”

Orlando is widely known for its rooted history in immersive technologies. As the simulation capital of the world, many of our military men and women are trained using this technology made here in our region. Our universities like UCF and Full Sail specialize in graduating students around Immersive tech, and of course our world famous theme parks offer guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in entertainment technology.
