Orlando Valkyries celebrate championship at City Hall

Today, the City of Orlando honored the Orlando Valkyries with a key to the city and an official proclamation at City Hall after the team clinched the 2025 Pro Volleyball Federation Championship. It marks the second professional championship in under a year for an Orlando based women’s sports team, following the Orlando Pride’s historic 2024 season as both NWSL Shield winners and NWSL Champions.

Mayor Buddy Dyer led the celebration at the Rotunda inside City Hall, presenting the Valkyries with a proclamation recognizing their achievement and community impact. “Although they're new to the Orlando sports scene, the @orlvalkyries have already made their mark,” Dyer posted on X. “Today at City Hall we helped the team celebrate winning the @RealProVB championship in its second season and thanked the players for inspiring girls in our community to dream big.”

Among the crowd were fans, news crews, and fellow Orlando sports leaders. Caleb Paull of Better Talent, longtime volleyball coach and supporter, shared his enthusiasm: “We’re here at City Hall to celebrate the recent champions, the Orlando Valkyries. This is the second championship for an Orlando sports team to win, and we’re so excited about it. I’m really excited as a fan and as a club volleyball coach myself.”

Tim Meyer, Director of Ticket Sales for the Valkyries, spoke with us, saying, “Thank you to the fans, thank you to the companies that partner with us and work with us and for all the support within the community.”

With their PVF championship and $1 million team prize, the Valkyries have cemented their place in Orlando sports history.
