Joyful Orlando will be at FusionFest 2025 with their Wellness Tent
Each Thanksgiving weekend, FusionFest transforms the heart of downtown Orlando into a vibrant celebration of global culture. Thousands gather at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts to share food, music, movement, art, and traditions from more than one hundred cultures represented across Central Florida. This year, the festival is broadening its cultural lens inward. Joyful Orlando, a movement focused on wellness and conscious connection, is bringing a full weekend of free mindfulness programming to the festival through its debut Joyful Orlando Consciousness Tent.
Joyful Orlando was founded by Gregg Pollack, the Captain of Conscious Connection, and Ishaan Vadhera, the Director of Human Sunshine. Together, they envisioned a platform that elevates wellness practices across the city and makes mindful living more visible, accessible and celebrated. Their work is supported by Global Peace 360, an organization committed to fostering environments that promote peace, unity, and holistic wellbeing.
At an event that celebrates the richness of global expression, Joyful Orlando highlights a cultural dimension that is equally diverse: the world’s many pathways to mindfulness. “Mindfulness lives in every culture,” Vadhera explains. “Across the globe, people have always found ways to breathe, move, chant, heal and reconnect. The Consciousness Tent honors that shared human tradition.”
This philosophy is reflected in the tent’s two-day lineup. Saturday features practices ranging from The Art of Hugging with Gregg Pollack to Mindful Connection, Laughter Yoga, Egyptian Oil Activation, Somatic Qigong, Circulo de Sanacion, Gong Vibrational Healing, and an energizing Afro Latin Drum Circle to close the evening. Each offering draws from a unique cultural or energetic heritage, creating a space where participants can experience multiple global traditions in one afternoon.
Sunday continues this exploration with Ignite Your Flow Yoga, Deep Relaxation Hypnotherapy, Ayurveda Wellness, a Cacao Ceremony, Ecstatic Dance and an uplifting finale of Kirtan. These sessions represent a spectrum of lineages, including South Asian, Afro Caribbean, Latin American, Indigenous, Eastern and Western therapeutic modalities. Importantly, every facilitator is based in Orlando, reflecting the city’s multicultural wellness landscape.
The Consciousness Tent is designed as a reflective counterpart to the energy of FusionFest. While the festival showcases outward expressions of culture through art, performance and cuisine, the tent offers visitors a chance to explore the inner expressions of cultural practices that help people stay grounded and connected. It also reinforces a broader truth that wellness traditions are cultural traditions.
In an era where many feel overstimulated or disconnected, Joyful Orlando’s activation provides space to slow down and reconnect with self and community.
As FusionFest unfolds on November 29th and 30th, the Joyful Orlando Consciousness Tent will invite visitors to step inside, experience multicultural mindfulness firsthand and discover a weekend of mindfulness that reflects the diversity and vibrancy of Orlando itself.
