Since opening The Good Pour’s first location in Gainesville nearly two years ago, Giuliana and Ray Horal have expanded their concept to four stores, including Winter Park, Gainesville, Longwood and College Park. They have given roughly $350,000 to over 200 charities. The company’s giving platform includes groups like One Heart for Women and Children, Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, Make-A-Wish Foundation, One Purse and many more.
When asked about the Good Pour, Giuliana told the Orlando Life, “We’re a wine and spirits marketplace that gives back with everything we sell. But what makes it special is that we let the customer pick where it goes.”
The Good Pour’s giving model runs on a custom built software platform designed to make generosity effortless. Instead of asking customers to round up their purchase, the system automatically donates a portion of profits and invites each shopper to choose the charity that matters most to them.

The concept started in the Horal’s living room in Winter Park. The two spent evenings brainstorming what felt missing from the traditional liquor store experience. They wanted something brighter, safer, more intentional, and more fun, especially for women who wanted a welcoming space to shop.
Before they even had a storefront, they decided to test the idea at the Winter Park Wine & Dine event, pouring sample cocktails and asking people a simple but powerful question: “What do you pour for?”
That question drove powerful and emotional answers and the experience solidified The Good Pour concept for the Horals. With Ray’s decades in the wine and spirits industry and Giuliana’s hospitality background, the two have found great success since opening their first store.
Outside of the four locations already open, construction is underway in Naples, Apopka, and Lake Mary, along with more than 20 additional stores that are in various stages of development through franchise partnerships. From a single neighborhood shop to franchising, Giuliana says, “We didn’t initially set out to [franchise], but we now have a lot of interest from people who want to leave a legacy to their family and do something really unique and turnkey and be a part of the momentum. Every location that we’ve had open, and the ones that are in the pipeline, have come completely organically, without marketing.”

Every location of the Good Pour will feature what she says is the heartbeat of the store; a tasting bar, where guests can sample wines, spirits and cocktails. There will also be a gift bar which allows customers to build personalized gift baskets. Customers can choose from a variety of curated items from both well known brands and local Orlando makers, such as Wash and Wik, LiveTrends, Rifle Paper Co and more. The stores also offer onsite engraving services to personalize purchased glassware, bottles and cutting boards for a small fee.
It was quite obvious when meeting Giuliana that she and her husband care greatly about doing good and contributing to the growing culture that’s happening here in Orlando. Since moving here in 2001 from Argentina, she says she has fallen in love with the city as she’s watched it grow. She describes our city as a happy, diverse place filled with creativity and heart. Like us here at the Orlando Life, she feels Orlando’s true beauty lies in its people. Having locals like the Horals here in Orlando, sharing their gifts with the community is exactly what makes Orlando amazing.
