Are you a dog owner in Central Florida? It might be time to spend the day in Baldwin Park.
Baldwin Park, an area built with walkable living in mind, is consistently ranked as one of Orlando’s most dog friendly areas. Nearly all of the restaurants in the Village Center have outdoor seating. And a few places will even give your pups unrestricted access.
Let's explore four places that I think you should bring your dog to the next time you visit Baldwin Park.
Lake Baldwin Park offers a large closed-in area for dogs to play. The park features lake access, a washing station, and pavilions. The park is also adjacent to a playground and hiking trails. “We have a Newfie so he loves to swim,” Orlando resident Denise Cartolano said. “When it’s hot, this is the only place to be, really.” The area also features some hidden artwork: tree carvings done by artist David McCallum.

The family owned store Magic Pet offers dog supplies, grooming, and daycare. They have two locations in Baldwin Park: one for grooming and supplies and the other for daycare services. Magic Pet also has shops in downtown, Oviedo, and Winter Park, but the Baldwin Park location is their top performing store. “This is the perfect place,” Amir Obeid said. “This store makes the most money. It’s a place filled with dogs.” Amir’s mother worked in her father’s cattle feed store before breaking out on her own and opening up Magic Pet.
This Friends themed café allows dogs to join in on the fun. Not only do dogs have access to water bowls on the restaurant's patio, they can also go inside. The menu includes pup cups: whip cream with a bone-shaped, peanut butter flavored cookie. Ray, an employee at Baldwin Perk, enjoys visiting with her dog regulars when they cuddle up on the couches.

This 2.6 mile loop around Lake Baldwin is perfect for dogs, runners, and bikers alike. The route, connecting Lake Baldwin Park with Blue Jacket Memorial Park, will take an estimated 45 minutes to complete. The path offers views of both nature and Baldwin Park neighborhoods.
