Tech Hub Orlando: A New Center for Innovation and Collaboration

Tech Hub Orlando held its ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning in downtown Orlando at the former UCF Research Center off Pine Street. Leaders from Starter Studio, UCF, Innovate Orlando, and OMG Labs spoke about their shared vision for the hub, highlighting it as a resource-rich environment where tech professionals can connect, create, and grow.

Dawn Haynes, CEO of Starter Studio, opened the ceremony, emphasizing that “innovation and entrepreneurship works best with collaboration and partnership.” Tech Hub Orlando embodies this spirit by offering entrepreneurs a place to meet, share resources, and access the support they need to turn ideas into successful ventures. Rob Penapinto of UCF added that, with support from the City of Orlando and Orange County, the hub includes shared offices, event spaces, and an auditorium – facilities designed to foster a community of innovators.

Kunal Patel, founder of IndieNomicon and CEO of OMG Labs, sees the hub as a stepping stone to building Orlando’s tech future, offering tech entrepreneurs opportunities to network, collaborate, and create. David Adelson, CEO of Innovate Orlando, echoed this, describing the hub as “a launchpad for our region’s bright future.”

Commissioner Shan Rose concluded the event by underscoring Orlando’s commitment to becoming a tech destination. She described the hub as a milestone for tech professionals looking to connect and grow in a city increasingly recognized for its vibrant tech community.

Tech Hub Orlando is now open, providing tech professionals with a central space to innovate, collaborate, and elevate Orlando’s tech landscape. Visit them at 36 W. Pine St, Orlando, FL 32801
